Name: Michiko Lain
Nickname/Alias: Lain, Lai
Age: 12
Gender: Female
Rank: Skilled
Position: Second Avatar
Nation: Air Nation
Looks: Lain is a short, skinny young 12 year old girl. She has a rounded-heart shaped face, small nose, and round ears. Lain has short, very dark blue hair with a strand of long hair on the left-front side of her head. Lain has a small mouth, usually in a small smile, or a small frown. She has long limbs, compaired to the rest of her body, which are quite slender. Lain’s arms and legs are muscular, with a vague line to show where her muscles are. Her neck is slightly long and slender.
Lain wears black cloth pants with a few pockets. The pants are slightly baggy, and bunches up over her ankles. Lain also wears a gray, cloth, hooded long-sleeved shirt, also slightly baggy. On the left sleeve of the shirt, there is a silver shield-shaped patch with eagle wings in the center, going out to the sides. At the middle of the shirt there is a pocket sewn in half (So it’s like two pockets shaped like one.) The shirt is button-up, but she usually leaves the top few buttons un-buttoned. Lain also wears white shoes with gray soles.
Family: N/A
Master or Student of: None
Personality: Lain is a shy, quirky young girl. She is pretty quiet, and won’t usually talk unless talked to first. However, she is quite intelligent, and often shows intelligence beyond her age. Lain, however, doesn’t enjoy talking to people she doesn’t know, and will often seem uncomfortable when speaking to strangers. She also doesn’t enjoy crowds.
Lain is quite quirky. One of her quirks is that when she sits, she often sits folded up (Like in the picture) with her hands down and her legs up. She is very comfortable in this position, however, and can fold up her body easily (as long as it’s within her body’s abilities.) Another one of her quirks is when she talks she talks quietly. This is something she is often degraded for, and is trying to build up her confidence to talk louder. Another quirk (more like a bad habit) is that she bites her nails when nervous.

History/backround Story: Air Temples: Lain was born in the Western Air Temple. At a young age (5) Lain began her air-bending training, taught by her mother, Kimi. In her classes, Lain was always the one near the bottom of her class, and she wasn't very good at Air-Bending either. However, that didn't stop her from working hard to improve her skills. Lain started learning staff arts at the age of 7.
When Lain was 9, she was introduced to Usso, the flying sky bison. Usso and Lain quickly formed an un-breakable bond, and became close friends. Usso was present at all of Lain's air-bending classes, and afterwards they would fly around outside of the temple. Usso was one of the only people (if a Sky Bison counts as a person) who Lain trusted completely.
Leaving the Air Temple: When Lain was 11, the elders told her she was an avatar. In responce, she said she would leave the air temples to learn the other elements. Living up to that, Lain remained in the air temple learning air bending until she turned 12. Once Lain turned 12, she and Usso left the air temple.
RP Sample: Lain flew overhead of the fire nation on Usso, her Sky Bison. The young air-bender looked down at the town she was flying above. Firebenders walked along the streets, as well as a variety of other people. Once in a while somebody would look up at point at them. Lain smiled to herself, and tugged gently on the reins of Usso. "We'll land just outside of there. We don't want to draw anymore attention to us." She told the gentle Sky Bison. Usso grunted in response, and turned to the outskirts of the town.
Once Usso and Lain reached the outskirts, Usso landed gently in a large clearing. "Yeah. This is good." Said Lain, surveying the land around them. She grabbed her staff, and hopped from the head of Usso, softening the air around her gently to soften her fall. She landed gently on the ground. "Okay, Usso, stay here unless I whistle sharply, okay?" Asked Lain, even thought Usso already knew this. Usso snorted, and Lain nodded. "Okay, I'll be back." She said, before turning around and walking into the town.
Inside the town, Lain walked down the streets. Her staff was tied onto her back, so her arms were free. The long strand of hair that was on the left side of her hair would blow around gently, but never too violently. Lain's hands were in the pockets of her shirt, and her walked slightly hunched over.
